Jackson, NC – Mrs. Eddie Lou West, age 95, of Jackson, NC passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. West was born on September 24, 1930 in Pierce County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Walter Fleming Hyers and Macie Bell Brunson Hyers. She was also predeceased by her husband, Wayne Holmes West, her son Timothy Scott West, and her siblings, Juneau Hyers Zerban, Jack Evan Hyers, James Brunson Hyers, Bennie Arnold Hyers, Sr., Sue Carol Hyers Hodges, Walter Fred Hyers, Bobbie Frank Hyers, and Macie Ann Hyers Mooney. Though she lived a quiet life as a farmer’s wife, her presence and influence were profoundly felt by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Eric Wayne West and his wife, Denise R. of Henrico, VA and daughter-in-law, Denise M. of Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Jacob and his wife, Reagan, Nathan, Tyler, Mackenzie, and Lucas West.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, NC with Rev. William “Skip” Cook officiating.

The family will receive friends at her home after the service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Academy, 210 Church Street, Lasker, NC 27845, for the education of a child.
