Donald Willie Lassiter, 84, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026 with his family by his side.

He was born in Northampton County to the late Willie and Emily Britton Lassiter and attended school in Conway. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Nellie Spivey, William Kenny Lassiter, Robert Lassiter and Dennis Lassiter.

He was a longtime member of Roanoke Valley Rescue Squad and retired from JP Stevens and Lassiter Trucking. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Ann Lassiter; his children, Donnie (Kim), Penny (Sean), Lynn (Jerry), Ronnie (Angie), Jeff (Tammy), Keith (Christy); his grandchildren, Lance, Blair (Adam), Brandon (Kelsey), Brittany (Josh), Dale (Alyssa), Christopher, Josh (Erin), Cameron (Sydney), Crystal, Taylor, Sophia, Jonathon (Ashley), Ryan (Melissa), Colin (Mikayla), Ian (Holly); great grandchildren, Bristol, Brinx, Maverick, Ava, Addy, Zoey, Tristian, Ivan, Brynleigh, Braylen, Alanna, Talon, Kase, Knox, Chloee, Kyler, Sutton, Jakob, Nash, Hayden, Tyler, Leland and Gabi; special friend, Keith Hudson; and special pets, Hank and Shop Kitty.
