Dezma Estelle Smith Medlin, 96 of Port Richey, Florida passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020. She was born on November 18, 1923 in Jackson, North Carolina to the late Frank and Nettie Smith. Dezma was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin E. Medlin, her daughter Lib Hobbs; her son James Medlin; her sisters, Regina and Charlotte and her brothers, Marcus, Carroll and Gerald. She was a Christian who believed in God and was one of the founding members of her church that she helped start. She was devoted to her family, was a caring mother and always looked for the good in people. Dezma is survived by her sons, Calvin Richard Medlin and Scott Medlin and his wife Cindy; her granddaughter, Lisa Dahm; her grandson, Rick Medlin and six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2pm at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Dathan Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 Sunday at the Funeral home.
