David Wayne Cox, 42 of Angier, NC passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021. He was born on December 5, 1978 in Halifax County and was preceded in death by his mother, Terri Marie Cox; His Grandma, Vicki Cox and his aunt, Sherri Cox. He was a master of all trades; a friend of Jimmy K. and never met a stranger. David often referred to himself as "Da Man" and lived up to that name. If he said he could fix something, he was right. He loved to make things come to life, and recently found his love for gardening and building furniture. David's love for people was obvious and he showed it every day with the amount of people that he helped through life. David loved music and the story that each song told and had an entire collection of shoes. Left to cherish David's memory forever is his daughter, Abigail Cox of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his fiancé, Lauren Ray of Angier NC; his sister Jessica Haselman and her husband, James of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his grandfather, Bobby Cox and his wife Joanne of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his nieces, Joslyn Haselman and Makayla Benton; his nephews, Jackson Haselman, Joseph Haselman, Judson Haselman, Liam Murphy, Mason Benton; his cousin, Allyssa Murphy; his brother Michael Harrington; his two beloved fur babies his cat P.P. (Snooki) and his loyal dog Layla and a lot of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services at 2pm on Sunday, March 7, 2021 with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:30pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
