Clifton W. Cobb departed this life on June 22, 2024. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pattie Ann; his parents, Olyo Russell and Pattie Roberta Spence Cobb; two brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife of 71 years (this August 16), Jo Ann Spruill Cobb and his children, Peggy Jo Cobb Braswell, Tina and husband, Jeff Hinton, Jill Cobb and Clifton Raymond and wife, Diane Cobb.

Grandchildren are Clifton Blake Braswell; Pattie Braswell Hunter; Randi Jo Forbes; Jessica Walker; Ethan Johnson; Colin and Logan Cobb; Khloe Ann Cooper; Sunni Cobb Roper; Ariana, Liam, Lily and Adaline Cobb. Great-grandchildren are Bryce and Bridgette Berwick; Paisley Jo Forbes; Afton Braswell; Avah and Caleb Hunter; Aiden Richards; and London Roper.

After serving in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 (stationed in Japan), Clip carried the longest US Postal walking route in North Carolina for 32 years-13 miles daily. For 20 years he served in the Halifax County Planning and Zoning Office.

Whether traveling, camping, horseback riding, hiking, hunting or spinning tales, his best times were spent with his best friends — his family. The loss of this husband, Daddy, Papa, Pop, Friend will be felt forever- "a hero to us all".

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Sue Owens officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cobb Braswell Hinton Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home on Thursday.
