Charles Emmett Rose, 84 of Emporia, Virginia passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022. He was born in Northampton County, North Carolina on February 3, 1938 to the late Charles Vernon Rose and Josie May Whitehead Rose and was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Rose; his sisters, Etta Mae Conner, Annie Rose Newsome and Lucy Rose Pate. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church for many years. Charles is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Patsy Whitby Rose; his daughters, Anita Ivey and her husband William of Emporia, Virginia and Melody Sweeney and her husband, Don of Sandston, Virginia; his son, Christopher Rose of Emporia, Virginia; his grandchildren, Kelly Powell and her husband, Carl, Amanda Temple and her husband, Mason, Krystal Hux and her husband, Brian, Samantha McNeely and her husband Brett and Gregory O'Berry, II and his wife, Mary; his great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Breelyn, Carleigh, Rilee, Brandon, Brycen and Liam; his sister, Florence Robbins of Halifax, North Carolina and his brother, Lewis Rose and his wife, Pat of Mooresville, North Carolina; also surviving are his furry companions, Dakota, Buttercup and Beebi. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Victory Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Kobernat officiating. Interment will follow in Greensville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
