Bennine Vann Martin 78 of Littleton, NC, passed away peaceful on December 9, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born May 16, 1943 to Simon Cheston Vann and Bollie Lee Stansbury Vann. Bennine was a graduate of Gaston High School in 1961 and graduated from Troutman Cosmetology School in Raleigh, NC. She started her career at Charlotte's in downtown Roanoke Rapids, later moved to Charm-Ette's Beauty Salon. Her dream came true, when she opened her own shop "Bennine's" in her backyard. Bennine served many clients and made lifetime friends over her 35-year career. Bennine always had a love for food. She loved to cook for family, friends and at Church functions. She loved canning and making homemade pickles and apple jacks. You knew it was Christmas when Bennine brought you a fruit cake. Bennine loved her Church family and was active in Vacation Bible School, Young at Heart and Let's Do lunch. Bennine is survived by her husband, Tony L. Martin, Sr. of 58 years; her children Tony L. Martin Jr., wife Betty Mason Martin of Roanoke Rapids; Jeanine Martin Goodwin, husband Rob of Cary, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren William Martin, Mason Martin of Conway, NC, Margaret Martin of Raleigh, Robert B. Goodwin II of Raleigh and Martin Grant Goodwin of Cary, NC, her brother Thurston Vann, wife Cindy of Brink, VA. In addition to her parents Bennine was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, brothers Benjamin Vann and Mason Vann. There will be a graveside service at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm. with Rev. Chris Snead officiating. Visitation will be following after the graveside service. The family would like to thank the Community Home Care & Hospice in Cary, NC for the care during this time. The staff was amazing!
