Bavan Lawrence "Goose" Zornes, 83 of Gaston, NC passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025. He was born in Kitts, Kentucky to the late Horace and Ruth Brown Zornes and was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary, Darleen and brother, Oscar.

"Goose" is survived by his wife, Marie H. Zornes; his sons, Lawrence Zornes and his wife, Christy, Lance Zornes and his wife, Alisha; his daughter, Donna Porch husband, Kenny; special nephews, Dana and Kenneth; his grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Crystal, Travis, Nathan and Brayson; his nine great-grandchildren and his siblings, Donna, Barb, Jack and Dean.

"Goose" loved to fish and loved riding his lawnmower.

A service of remembrance will take place on the home place in Gaston, 601 Myrick Street Gaston, NC 27832 on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM with military honors.
