It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our greatly beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and dear friend, Barbara Jean Daniels. Jean passed away on Monday morning, October 5, 2026 at ECU Health North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She left all of us way too soon.
Jean was born at home in Weldon, NC on July 11, 1950. She was the youngest daughter of the late John C. and Mable N. Daniels. She was employed with Coastal Lumber Company as their Corporate Credit Manager for 41 years before her retirement. During her employment with Coastal Lumber Company she received the award for "Manager of the Year" four times. Jean was also a former town commissioner for the Town of Halifax. She was a charter member of Good News Baptist Church where she was the financial officer. Jean loved God, her church, and her church family. If there were things at church to be done, she was right there. She served her church in many capacities. Jean took pride in always doing a good job no matter what the task. She was truly a very special person who touched the lives of so many people. She never met a stranger and will be forever missed.
Those left to cherish her memory and all the love she gave us are her sisters, Joyce Campbell and husband, Don (whom Jean loved as a brother), Peggy Frazier and husband, Terry (whom Jean loved as a brother); her three nephews who were the love and light of her life, Brian and Dawn Frazier, their daughters, Ava, Alyssa, and Abby; Phillip and Leslie Frazier, their daughters, Luck and Camille, son Brennan; Russ and Monica Frazier and their daughter, Katie; a sister by heart, Kay Brandmahl (JB), her son, Braxton and daughter, Mary Katelyn Kersey (Justin), their children Collins and Carter who brought a great deal of joy into Jean’s life; an aunt, Dorothy Daniels; a very special cousin, Sheila Alford and her children, Karen (Ricky) and Weslee (Jeff) and their children, Parker and Brody; a special best friend, Susan Clements and numerous cousins and friends.
Jean will be lovingly remembered always by her family and friends whose lives she touched. She will be forever missed. God has truly gained an angel.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Good News Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jimmy King with a visitation from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Jean’s honor to Good News Baptist Church, 714 NC Hwy 125, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870 or to a charity of your choice.
