LITTLETON — Barbara Vaughan "Bobbie" Nowell, 77 of Littleton, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

"Bobbie' was the daughter of the late Herman Otis and Lucille Tanner Vaughan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Nowell, a daughter, Sherry Nowell King, granddaughter, Kelsie Danielle Wood and two brothers, Pat and Michael Vaughan.

She retired from New Dixie as a store manager.

"Bobbie" is survived by her son, William "Bill" Nowell and his wife, Lisa of Roanoke Rapids; her daughters, Bobbie Sue Hux and her husband, Ken, of Littleton and Chris Wood and her husband, Ken of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Timmy Godsey, David King, Christopher Nowell, Stewart King, Jr., Stephanie St. Clair, Ashley Nowell Bennett, Zachary Horvath, Casey Hux Massey, Tyler Wood, Megan Nowell Johnson, and Mackenzie Wood; great-grandchildren, Timothy Allen Godsey, Braxton Bennett, Hailey St. Clair, Landen Nowell, Matilyn Bennett and Emma St. Clair; great grandchildren, Kirtleigh Massey, Huxleigh Massey and Avary Horvath; two sisters, Toni Hux of Littleton and Sondra Nowell of Roanoke Rapids and special friend, Brown Feather.

The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:00 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids on Sunday, December 17, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023 in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with the Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
