Anna Lorene Pleasant Kirk, 86 of Raleigh, NC, formerly, of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020. She was born to the late Walter Herbert Pleasant, Sr. and Minnie Pearl Hall Pleasant and was preceded in death by her husband, James Walker Kirk; her daughter, Karen Corley and her son-in-law, David Corley and several siblings. Lorene was an artist, seamstress, decorator, gardener, caregiver and loved people and animals. She is survived by her two daughters, Gail Kirk of Knightdale, NC, Cynthia Harper and her husband, Richard of Williamston, NC; her two sisters, Juanita P. Wood and her husband, Tom of Dunn, NC, Linda P. Cooper of Tampa FL; her brother Mack Pleasant of Manakin-Sabot, VA; her two grandchildren, Jamie Harper of Clinton, NC and Rick Harper of Fairfield, VA; her four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC at 6:00 pm with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. The family receive friends after the services at the funeral home. Interment will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11:00 am in New Bern National Cemetery in New Bern NC.
